Overview

The system and data disks of an instance are typically local SSDs,while a small number are cloud disks. Local data disks offer good performance but have no redundant copies; due to the inherent lifespan of local disks, there is a probability of failure. Please regularly back up important data to File Storage or locally. WebCal does not provide any reliability guarantees or services for such local storage products.

Data Retention in Instances

Data retention rules in the example:

Data remains on the instance and is not affected by powering the instance on or off, or by the expiration of annual or monthly subscription plans. However, instances have a release cycle: an instance will be released after being continuously powered off for 15 days. At that time, all data on the instance will be cleared and cannot be recovered after release.
Second, rented servers have an expiration date. Typically, the rental period for a server ranges from 3 months to several years. If a server is no longer available for rent,the instance will be released when the host is decommissioned (the system will display a red decommissioning countdown on the instance at least 7 days in advance; you can enable instance expiration/release alerts on the console homepage). Therefore, please pay attention to the host’s rental expiration date, and we recommend that you enable subscription instance release/expiration notifications on the console homepage.

Uploading and Downloading Data

We strongly recommend using cloud storage for data transfer, as it is not affected by your local network environment and offers stable and fast transfers. See Public Cloud Storage

If you’ve used a public cloud storage service to transfer data (such as Alibaba Cloud Drive, Quark Cloud Drive, or Baidu Netdisk, as mentioned above), you can search for the dataset on the “Share Data” page of the website, save it to your own cloud storage, and then download it to your instance via AutoPanel. We also welcome you to share your data with other users!
